Detecting OS using ping (TTL)

Ping operates by sending ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) echo Requests packets to the host and waiting for an ICMP echo reply.

By pinging a you will receive a TTL (Time To Live) value and the TTL value will tell you what OS the target is running here are the main ones.
